Healthcare for Georgians
The U.S. Census Bureau reported last year that Georgia has the third-highest uninsured rate in the nation, surpassing only Texas and Oklahoma. This is unacceptable in the 6th-best state for business according to CNBC as of 2019.
There is one reason and one reason alone that nearly 1/5th of Georgians are uninsured. When our Republican state leaders had the opportunity to expand Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act signed by President Obama, they refused. They refused because their partisan loyalties overcame their love for their fellow Georgians.
Medicaid expansion won't cost Georgia a dime. Providing access to medical care for Georgians will be my top priority if elected to the Georgia State House - and I won't let senseless partisanship stand in my way.
